Tutoring Initiatives

We strive to create and nurture a one-on-one connection with all of our students because we know connections improve performance, attitude, and self-esteem. Our goal is to reach each student with specific learning geared to enable each student's learning style.
Tiered Structure
Independent Learners - studies for advanced students who function independently

Dovetail Learners - have initial knowledge but need additional skill sets, strategies, and scaffolding to continue advancing
Step One Learners - students who need basic skills, strategies, and more intensive tutoring to begin gaining effective building block learning. This includes students who are struggling with reading, decoding, and comprehension.

Initial Assessment

We will use the information on your initial form as well as any additional information obtained through follow-up correspondence and conversations.

1) Formulate a mutual plan to meet the student's goals using achievable mini-goals through incremental learning
2) Assess on an ongoing basis in order to maintain mutually agreeable progress
3) Review and Reinforce new skills by way of Conversations, Written tasks or Mini Projects any of which will build strength and confidence
